KPMG Fiji Bids Farewell to Pioneering Partner Renu Chand After Two Decades

KPMG Fiji has announced the upcoming retirement of Renu Chand, the partner responsible for Fiji Business & Tax Advisory services, effective at the end of next month. Ms. Chand has been with the firm for nearly 20 years, having started as a senior manager in January 2005 before becoming a partner in January 2007.

Throughout her nearly two-decade tenure, Ms. Chand has held various significant roles, including Head of People, Performance & Culture, Head of Learning & Development, Chief Information Officer, National IT Security Officer, and Privacy Liaison Officer.

Lisa Apted, the managing partner of KPMG Fiji, praised Ms. Chand as a highly trusted professional, noting the respect her diverse client base has for her. “She has delivered exceptional client service experiences at every opportunity, and we thank her for the valuable contribution she has made to the firm,” Apted said.

Ms. Chand played a key role in launching the Fiji Dynamix pilot program and establishing KPMG’s new office in Nadi in 2023, following the integration with KPMG Australia. A prominent female business leader, she previously served as the president and treasurer of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants and was the first female member from Fiji to become a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In retirement, Ms. Chand intends to travel and spend time with family abroad.

Apted mentioned that the transition of Ms. Chand’s clients is currently in progress, which includes personal introductions to new partners. “Continuity of engagements and maintaining a high quality of service is paramount to us as a firm, and we will work with clients to ensure a smooth transition,” she added.
