KPMG Fiji Bids Farewell to Influential Partner Renu Chand

KPMG Fiji has announced the retirement of Renu Chand, who has been the partner responsible for Fiji Business & Tax Advisory services. Ms. Chand will officially retire at the end of next month after nearly two decades with the firm. She joined KPMG Fiji’s Business Services Group as a senior manager in January 2005 and became a partner in January 2007.

Throughout her nearly 20-year tenure, Ms. Chand has taken on several significant roles, including Head of People, Performance & Culture; Head of Learning & Development; Chief Information Officer; National IT Security Officer; and Privacy Liaison Officer.

“Renu is a deeply trusted professional, and the high caliber of her diverse client base speaks volumes about the value clients see in her,” stated Lisa Apted, KPMG Fiji’s managing partner. “She has consistently provided exceptional client service, and we are grateful for her significant contributions to the firm.”

Ms. Chand played a pivotal role in launching the initial pilot and establishing Fiji Dynamix, as well as setting up KPMG’s new office in Nadi in 2023, following its integration with KPMG Australia.

As a prominent female business leader and former president and treasurer of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants, she was the first female Fijian member to be recognized as a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In her retirement, she plans to travel and spend quality time with family living abroad.

Ms. Apted emphasized that the transition for Ms. Chand’s clients is underway, including personal introductions to new partners. “Ensuring continuity in client engagements and maintaining high service quality is a priority for us, and we are committed to facilitating a smooth transition,” she remarked.
