The head coach of the Fiji Men’s National 7s team, Osea Kolinisau, has expressed pride in Ponipate Loganimasi for joining the Fijian Drua squad. Kolinisau emphasizes the significance of player development and seizing opportunities as they arise.

Loganimasi, recognized for his speed on the field, will join his teammates from the Paris Olympics, Iosefo Masi and Selestino Ravutaumada, in the Drua Men’s team for the upcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. He made a notable impact in his debut for the national 15s team, scoring two tries in the Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan, stepping up for the Flying Fijians following Ravutaumada’s injury in the first round of the tournament.

Kolinisau expressed his satisfaction with Loganimasi’s progress, highlighting the desire for players to transition successfully from 7s to fifteens rugby. “I’m happy with Loganimasi joining the Drua; that’s what we want, progression from 7s to fifteens,” Kolinisau stated. He believes that this shift can enhance players’ skills and create better financial opportunities.

“It’s great progress because that’s where the money is, so I’m happy for Poni and wish him all the best in his season with the Drua and in achieving his future goals.”
