Leon Kofana, a defender for the Solomon Islands and Rewa, has been diagnosed with a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury, which is expected to keep him off the field for around six weeks. The injury occurred during an international match against Hong Kong, China, last Thursday. Initially, there were concerns that Kofana may have suffered a more serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which would have sidelined him for at least six months. However, further evaluations by the team’s medical staff confirmed the injury as an MCL issue, which is less serious. Although Kofana will miss the upcoming DFPL matches, the team is optimistic about his speedy recovery and eventual return to play.
