The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary road closure affecting Kings Road, particularly the lanes heading towards Suva, from the junction of Nakasi Road to the junction of Adi Lady Davila Road.
This closure is set for Sunday, October 27, 2024, and will be in effect from 2 PM to 10 PM. The reason for the closure is to trim three large trees whose branches are intruding upon the pedestrian footpath, cycle lane, bus shelter, and part of the roadway. These activities are part of FRA’s ongoing efforts to ensure safe access for pedestrians and drivers alike.
During the closure, all traffic directed towards Suva will be rerouted through Nakasi Road, Vavalagi Road, and Vishnu Deo Road, before rejoining Kings Road as indicated in the attached diagram.
FRA expects to complete the work within the specified timeframe and apologizes in advance for any noise disruptions, expressing gratitude for the understanding of local residents near the construction area.
For any further questions or additional information, the public can reach FRA at the toll-free number 5720 (available weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM) or via email at info@fijiroads.org.
