Pita Wise, the Government’s Chief Strategist, has stepped down from his role as the Prime Minister’s Permanent Secretary, effective immediately.
Luke Rokovada, chair of the Public Service Commission, stated that Wise resigned voluntarily due to personal reasons. Wise has been serving as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister since January 2023 and has held similar positions in previous administrations.
Rokovada noted that Wise has dedicated over 30 years to government service. He expressed gratitude for Wise’s significant contributions and exceptional performance as Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office, extending best wishes for his future pursuits.
The appointment of Wise’s successor has not yet been announced.
