Key Education Official Reassigned: What’s Next for Fiji’s Education Ministry?

The Permanent Secretary for Education, Selina Kuruleca, has been appointed as the new Permanent Secretary for Justice, a change that will take effect next Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ratu Meli Nacuva, currently the Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports, will assume the role of Acting Permanent Secretary for Education.

Luke Rokovada, Chair of the Public Service Commission, expressed gratitude to Kuruleca for her commitment to maintaining high standards and her focus on improving quality and equity within the education sector. He believes that Kuruleca’s new role will effectively utilize her skills and experience.

Rokovada also highlighted Nacuva’s extensive background in public administration, education policy, and training and development, noting that these will be essential in advancing the Ministry’s initiatives to improve the quality and accessibility of education for all citizens.
