Kalafi Moala, a seasoned media expert from the region and Tonga, has been named the new President of the Pacific Islands News Association (PINA). Moala takes over from Kora Nou of Papua New Guinea following a secret ballot election. His nomination came from Stanley Simpson of the Fijian Media Association.
Other elected officials include Leilani Reklai from Palau as Vice President, Fred Wesley representing Fiji for Print, Neville Choy from Papua New Guinea as the National Association Representative, Esther Pahivi from Niue as the TV Representative, Robert Iroga from the Solomon Islands for the Online Representative, and Katalina Tohi from Tonga for the Radio Representative.
