Kaiviti Silktails Team Up with Bulldogs: What This Means for Fiji Rugby League

The Kaiviti Silktails Rugby League Club has confirmed a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, concluding their four-year collaboration with the Sydney Roosters.

This new agreement will synchronize the football programs of both clubs over the next three seasons. Kaiviti Silktails Chairman Petero Civoniceva, an NRL Hall of Famer and former Fiji Bati Captain, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership following talks with Bulldogs General Manager of Football Phil Gould.

“Our club is thrilled to partner with the Bulldogs. Observing the success of their NRL team this year and the initiatives implemented by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan within their Pathways Program made this partnership a seamless choice for us,” said Civoniceva.

He also emphasized the Bulldogs’ active engagement in Fiji and highlighted the significant Fijian community in Canterbury-Bankstown.

“In addition to the large Fijian population in the Canterbury-Bankstown area, the Bulldogs have demonstrated their commitment to Fiji over the past two seasons, which we greatly appreciate,” he commented.

Civoniceva expressed gratitude to the Roosters for their previous support and extended well wishes for their future endeavors. “I want to thank the Roosters, especially Daniel Anderson, Craig Walker, and Dean Feeney, for their support throughout the years. We wish them all the best.”

Phil Gould remarked that the partnership with the Silktails enhances the Bulldogs’ initiatives in Fiji.

“Welcoming the Kaiviti Silktails into our Pathways Program furthers our dedication to rugby league in Fiji. We are excited to assist them in advancing their commendable development programs,” Gould noted.

This new partnership represents a crucial advancement for the Kaiviti Silktails as they aim to nurture and develop local rugby league talent in Fiji.
