Kaiviti Silktails Forge New Alliance with Bulldogs: What’s Next?

The Kaiviti Silktails have formed a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, concluding their previous four-year alliance with the Sydney Roosters. This new collaboration allows for integration between the Bulldogs and the Silktails’ football programs for the next three seasons.

Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, citing multiple reasons for its significance. He highlighted the impressive progress of the Bulldogs’ NRL team this year, which has captivated Rugby League fans.

Civoniceva praised the Bulldogs’ Pathways Program, led by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan, emphasizing the importance of connecting with a robust program. He also took a moment to express gratitude to the Sydney Roosters for the past four years, particularly to Daniel Anderson, wishing them well for the future.

Bulldogs GM of Football Gould, speaking from Suva to promote the partnership, underscored the Bulldogs’ increasing involvement in Fijian rugby over the past two seasons, especially following the acquisition of Viliame Kikau. He noted the establishment of ‘The Kikau Academy’ in Fiji and mentioned that their Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams had played in Fiji on three occasions within the last year to bolster this commitment.

Gould emphasized that partnering with the Silktails represents an ongoing dedication to advancing Rugby League in Fiji.
