The Kaiviti Silktails have entered into a three-year partnership with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, marking a new chapter following their four-year collaboration with the Sydney Roosters. This agreement aims to align the Bulldogs’ and Silktails’ football programs over the next three seasons.
Kaiviti Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the multiple reasons that made the collaboration with the Bulldogs a logical choice. He praised the Bulldogs’ NRL team’s remarkable performance this year, which resonated with rugby league fans. Civoniceva noted that the success of the NRL team stems from the work done by Phil Gould and Adam Hartigan through their Pathways Program, making it crucial for the Silktails to partner with a robust program.
He took the opportunity to thank the Sydney Roosters for their partnership over the past four years, particularly acknowledging Daniel Anderson, and wished them well for the future.
From Suva, Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould commented on the partnership, emphasizing the Bulldogs’ dedication to the Fijian rugby league. He noted that after bringing Viliame Kikau to their club, they have increased their involvement in Fiji, including the establishment of ‘The Kikau Academy.’ Gould mentioned that their Ron Massey Cup and Jersey Flegg teams have played in Fiji three times in the past year to promote the sport.
The partnership with the Silktails represents an extension of the Bulldogs’ commitment to rugby league in Fiji.
