A man suspected of theft was apprehended yesterday by the Police Dog Unit during a routine patrol in Lautoka.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu reported that K9 officers conducting their patrol on Drasa Avenue encountered a situation involving a woman who had her mobile phone stolen.

The officers promptly tracked down the 25-year-old suspect and successfully retrieved the victim’s phone.

Driu noted that the suspect, who has a prior criminal history, is currently held at the Lautoka Police Station while investigations are ongoing.
