Juveniles Charged with Rape and Sexual Offences: ODPP Report Reveals Disturbing Statistics

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has charged two juveniles, aged 15 and 13, on multiple counts of rape and attempted rape.

In the ODPP Rape and Sexual Offences Statistics for June, an update revealed that a 15-year-old boy was charged with the alleged rape and attempted rape of a 5-year-old girl.

In a separate incident, a 13-year-old boy was charged with the rape of a 12-year-old boy.

Additionally, 15 individuals were charged with a total of 32 counts of sexual offences in June. These counts consist of 21 for rape, 2 for attempted rape, 4 for indecent assault, 1 for defilement, and 4 for sexual assault.

The report noted that of the 15 accused persons, two were juveniles.

There were six incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another.
