Five juveniles have been charged by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for serious offenses last month. A 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old man face charges of aggravated burglary and theft after allegedly breaking into the home of a 76-year-old woman, from whom they reportedly stole a television, household appliances, FJD $500, and AUD $250.
In a separate case, three 17-year-old boys have been charged with aggravated burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property after they allegedly broke into a school and stole five laptops and a sound system speaker.
Additionally, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into the home of a 46-year-old man, from which they stole a laptop, a chainsaw, and a mobile phone.
In September, a total of 38 individuals were charged with 42 counts of non-sexual violence offenses. These charges included one count of murder, one count of manslaughter due to breach of duty, five counts of aggravated robbery, nine counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary, ten counts of theft, three counts of receiving stolen property, one count of intent to cause grievous harm, one count of grievous harm, four counts of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, one count of breach of bail conditions, and one count of breach of suspended sentence.
