Junior Saula’s Comeback: Will He Knockout the Competition?

Junior Saula, a super welterweight boxer, is set to make his return to the ring after a two-year hiatus. The 29-year-old fighter will compete in the 70kg weight class this Saturday at Subrail Park in Labasa, as part of the South Pacific Boxing Promotion.

“This is my time to step out and showcase my abilities,” Saula expressed from Labasa. “After being away for two years, this marks my comeback.”

In his upcoming match, Saula will face Kali Vakalalabure, a debutant from Natewa Bay, in a six-round bout. With four professional fights under his belt, Saula has secured two knockouts and suffered two defeats. His amateur record, however, remains perfect, with three wins, all by knockout.

Saula is not underestimating his opponent, stating, “I am entering the fight with the goal of achieving a knockout.” He revealed that he dedicated three months to intense training for this comeback, with guidance from trainer Nat Ledua and sparring assistance from his brothers.

“My opponent will likely bring his best effort to impress the fans, but I am prepared for the challenge,” he added. Saula expressed gratitude to the Fiji Boxing Commission for organizing the event in Labasa, providing local fans the opportunity to enjoy exciting boxing matches.
