Cloudy periods with brief showers are expected across much of the eastern and central islands, while western and northern areas will remain mostly fine with only isolated afternoon or evening showers. Moderate to fresh northeast winds will ease to moderate to fresh easterlies by Friday, and seas are forecast to be moderate to rough around the group.
The main areas likely to see cloud and brief showers include Suva–Nausori, Naitasiri–Rewa–Tailevu–Ra, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove including Taveuni, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Local forecasts indicate Navua/Suva/Nausori around 22–28°C tomorrow, rising slightly to about 22–29°C on Friday. Natadradave/Korovou is expected near 22–28°C tomorrow and 23–29°C on Friday. Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti, and Kadavu will also see cloudy periods with brief showers, with daytime temperatures generally in the upper 20s.
Western and main urban centres will be largely settled. Nadi, Lautoka and Ba are expected to remain mainly fine with highs near 30°C and morning lows around 22°C, cooling to about 20°C Friday night. Yasawa/Mamanuca and the Coral Coast should be fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers, with daytime temperatures close to 30°C. Over Rakiraki expect cloudy periods with brief showers while Tavua remains mostly fine but with a chance of isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms. Labasa and Nabouwalu are mainly fine, and Savusavu can expect cloudy periods with brief showers.
Winds will be moderate to fresh from the northeast today, shifting to easterly on Friday, and nights will feel cooler in many districts. Seas are moderate to rough, so mariners and those planning coastal activities should take care. Rotuma is under a moist easterly flow and will be fine apart from brief showers, with moderate to fresh easterly winds and moderate to rough seas.
