Jone Usamate, an opposition member of parliament, has praised the former Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, for his enduring leadership in Fiji. In a post on his social media account, the recently deregistered FijiFirst MP expressed admiration for Bainimarama’s ambition of creating a society devoid of ethnic and religious discrimination.

Usamate highlighted Bainimarama’s push towards unity, by insisting all citizens be referred to as Fijian. He stated that this call for equality is gradually being accepted, even by those who initially opposed it.

He commended Bainimarama’s unwavering dedication to his principles and his successful leadership, noting that his legacy will continue to have a lasting impact on the nation. Usamate described Bainimarama as a family-oriented, decisive, and brave individual, and praised his ability to deliver on his promises.

As news regarding the FijiFirst’s deregistration breaks, Usamate took the opportunity to salute and acknowledge the leadership of Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.
