The Fisheries Ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation of Japan to implement the Fisheries Development Assistance for Pacific Island Nations Seven Project. This initiative aims to restore and maintain fisheries-related facilities while transferring key technical skills from Japan to Fiji.

He emphasized that maintaining continuous operation of these facilities is a demanding task that requires skilled engineering.

To further bolster technical skills, the foundation will host workshops for facility maintenance personnel and assist in ensuring the reliable operation of ice-making facilities in Fiji.
