The International Women’s Association (IWA) proudly announced the success of its PINKtober fundraising lunch, held on October 19 at the Nanuku Resort in Fiji. IWA president Judy Compain expressed heartfelt thanks to Nanuku Resort and the numerous small businesses that supported the event, emphasizing how their generosity enables the IWA to enhance its impact in the community.
During the event, Nanuku Fiji’s managing director Jeff Larsen and general manager Tomasi Turukawa presented a substantial cheque for $25,000 to Compain and her team. This significant contribution will bolster the IWA’s efforts to assist women, children, and healthcare initiatives within Fiji.
The IWA particularly acknowledged the small businesses that donated various items for door prizes, raffles, and auctions, which played an essential role in raising a significant portion of the funds needed. This collective support highlights the importance of community collaboration in driving positive change.
Nanuku Resort continues to be a vital partner in the IWA’s mission, championing community well-being and women’s empowerment while also supporting their staff and families. The proceeds from the event will be directed towards cancer patient support and enhancing health initiatives, building on projects such as the recent renovation of the CWM Oncology Ward completed earlier this year.
This successful event not only reflects the spirit of giving and community solidarity but also brings hope for improved health services and support for those in need in Fiji. Such initiatives demonstrate the powerful impact that collective efforts can have on the lives of women and children in the region.
