Iosefo Masi from the Fijian Drua is being considered as a potential replacement for Semi Radradra, his fellow native from Taveuni, at the French Top 14 club Lyon. Masi has a two-year contract with the Drua that began in 2022 and is set to conclude at the end of this year, though he has not yet signed an extension.

Reports from Midi Olympique indicate that Radradra’s contract is also nearing its end, and it is doubtful that it will be renewed. According to the publication, Lyon’s management is exploring options for one of the standout players from the recent Super Rugby season.

The article highlighted concerns within the club regarding Radradra’s future. Club president Yann Roubert previously expressed hopes for improvement from the team last season, underscoring that the upcoming season would be a chance for players to demonstrate their value and commitment to the team’s goals.

Roubert stated, “Each season, players reach the end of their contract and the season will give us elements for them to know if there is a common desire to continue together.” This suggests that the evaluation of players will play a crucial role in determining contract extensions.

Recently, Radradra was not included in the starting lineup for Lyon’s match, which ended in a heavy defeat of 43-22 against La Rochelle.
