Investigation Unveils International Drug Network Involving Deported Criminals

A significant drug network has been identified involving illegal deportees from various countries and criminal enterprises across the Pacific.

Following a drug bust in Nadi earlier this year, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sakeo Ganivatu expressed concerns about the origins of the drugs, the responsible syndicates, and the identities of local collaborators.

According to Mr. Ganivatu, police believe a large drug network is in operation. “Some deported individuals from other countries are running this network,” said Mr. Ganivatu. “It includes criminal enterprises on both sides of the Pacific with Mexican Cartels, some American Cartels, Australian organized crimes, and New Zealand organized crimes.”

“These networks are USA-based and have links through criminal deportees,” he added. “These are large networks with a strong foundation. They are very smart, intelligent people with degrees, including PhDs and Masters.”

Mr. Ganivatu emphasized the importance of collective efforts to combat this issue. “It is crucial that we work together, not because it is an obligation, but to show the world how much we value this country.”

Police are focused on disrupting and dismantling these drug networks, which are slowly infiltrating educational environments. “Through a united front, we can effectively disrupt and dismantle these networks,” said Mr. Ganivatu.
