Investigation Launched After Amusement Ride Malfunction at Hibiscus Festival

The National Occupational Health and Safety Service, part of the Employment Ministry, is carrying out a preliminary investigation into a malfunction that occurred on an amusement ride during the 2024 Hibiscus Festival.

On September 1, the MG Rocket Ride experienced a technical failure when the turnbuckle on cart No. 3 broke, leading to a tilt of the cart.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the safety belts and the structure of the ride remained intact.

The ride has been closed while the investigation is ongoing.

Before the festival commenced, the National Occupational Health and Safety Service inspected and certified all rides, and the team has been overseeing operations throughout the event.
