The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has forwarded the investigation file regarding Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department for further examination.
The ODPP announced this decision after discussions between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was assigned to the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva. Last week, the ODPP obtained FICAC’s investigation file related to Malimali.
The ODPP stated, “A decision was reached that the investigation into this matter was incomplete; therefore, the file has been sent to the Director CID with recommendations to complete the investigation.”
Once the investigation concludes, the file will be returned to the ODPP for a thorough analysis of all evidence. They also indicated that an update on the review’s outcome would be provided once the completed file is received and a decision is made.
