A 38-year-old mother of three, Monisha Mamta Rao, touched many hearts during her graduation ceremony at the Vodafone Arena for Fiji National University. Despite facing a physical disability, she celebrated a significant personal achievement as she received an award with the assistance of her supportive husband, Ronald Rao.
Monisha completed a year of rigorous study in Labasa and was honored as one of the two recipients of the National Training and Productivity Centre Excellence Award for her Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management. Overwhelmed with emotion, she expressed her joy when her name was announced from the podium.
“My family members are my greatest supporters. Without their understanding and support, I wouldn’t have made it this far,” she remarked, reflecting on the importance of her family in her journey.
Together with her husband, Monisha has built a beautiful life with their three children. She currently serves as a clerical officer at the Fiji National Council for Persons with Disabilities in Labasa. Ronald, visibly proud, shared his sentiments regarding their seven years of marriage. “We have always faced everything hand in hand. We make it work no matter what,” he stated.
Monisha’s journey is one defined by resilience and determination. She emphasized the power of will and self-respect, encouraging others to strive for their dreams. “Anyone can achieve anything. With willpower and self-respect, you can soar to greater heights,” she inspired her audience.
