Inspection Exposes Shocking Breaches at Grace Road Company

A recent inspection conducted by the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations uncovered violations regarding minimum employment terms and conditions, as well as occupational health and safety standards at Grace Road Company (GRC) across Viti Levu.

Minister Agni Deo Singh pointed out that the inspection report indicated breaches of the Employment Relations Act 2007 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996. In light of these findings, the Ministry is set to carry out further investigations into the issues identified during the inspections.

Minister Singh emphasized that Fijian law is applicable to both local and migrant workers. He assured that the Ministry is dedicated to enforcing compliance with employment laws, urging GRC to adhere to legal provisions and ensure that all workers receive their rightful compensation without delay.
