Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that the Terms of Reference (TOR) for a Commission of Inquiry into allegations made by former FICAC Acting Deputy Commissioner Francis Puleiwai are currently in draft form and will be finalized and published soon. This follows claims made by Puleiwai that senior government officials, including ministers and deputy prime ministers, interfered with ongoing investigations. The Prime Minister indicated that the inquiry could take the shape of either a formal commission or a thorough investigation. He added that the TOR is in the process of being developed, and the composition of the commission tasked with the inquiry is also being organized. Rabuka affirmed that there is a legal framework governing the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry.
