A 20-year-old man is set to appear at the Labasa Magistrates Court today on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl. The incident reportedly took place on the night of June 27, when the man, who is known to the family, offered to take the crying child from her grandfather’s home to her mother. Along the way, the man allegedly sexually assaulted the young girl before eventually bringing her home. The child informed her mother about the incident, leading to a report being filed at the Nabouwalu Police Station. The accused has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
