Indo-Fijian School Shocks Rivals with Rugby Finals Victory!

Koronubu Sanatan Primary School’s mixed girls’ team captured attention by triumphing over Rarawai FSC Primary School with a score of 4-1 in the Ba Primary School Rugby finals last week at the AD Patel College grounds.

Representing the only Indo-Fijian school in the two-day tournament, Koronubu fielded five teams, four of which made it to the finals. This year marks their second participation in the Ba Primary School Rugby competition, following their debut last year with two teams.

In the final matches, Koronubu showcased remarkable performances from their mixed girls’ team, mixed boys’ team, Indo boys’ team, and U10 girls’ team. The mixed girls’ team displayed an outstanding game of tag rugby, characterized by aggressive offense and skilled play, leaving their rivals struggling to keep up.

They led 3-1 at halftime and secured their win by extending their lead to 4-1 by the conclusion of the match.

Teacher in charge, Krishneel Kumar, expressed gratitude towards the parents for their invaluable support. “Our parents played a huge role in helping these kids. They provided boots for the young players, prepared lunches, and we thank them for their contributions. It was our parents that made everything possible for us,” Kumar stated.
