The Department of Immigration has announced the launch of its Online Permit Processing System, set to begin operation on the 2nd of next month. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and convenience of processing work permits, investor permits, and appeals.
To facilitate the transition to the new system, the department will cease accepting applications for work permits, investor permits, and appeals starting this Friday. All current paper applications will continue to be processed over the next month.
Applicants are advised that if their current application expires between August 23rd and September 2nd and they do not submit a renewal application, they will not face penalties. The Immigration Department believes that the new system will streamline workflow and reduce the time needed to process applications, allowing applicants to monitor the status of their applications at every stage.
