IHG Fiji Hotels, owned by the Fiji National Provident Fund, is taking part in global initiatives to promote cancer awareness through its Pinktober 2024 activities. The hotels involved, including InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva, aim to raise awareness and directly support organizations that positively impact cancer initiatives in Fiji.

According to a statement from IHG Fiji Hotels, throughout October, the hotels will offer a range of activities for both guests and staff that are designed to support cancer awareness efforts. The funds raised through these initiatives will benefit local non-governmental organizations, including the Fiji Cancer Society, WOWS Kids Fiji, and Cure Kids Fiji, ensuring that the contributions are directed towards those most in need.

Lachlan Walker, the general manager of IHG Fiji Hotels and Resorts, highlighted that their annual Pinktober fundraising and awareness efforts demonstrate IHG’s dedication to generating a positive influence in local communities. He emphasized that through partnerships with organizations like the Fiji Cancer Society, WOWS Kids Fiji, and Cure Kids Fiji, they are committed to raising awareness and providing essential support for those impacted by cancer.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in the events throughout October and enjoy special food and beverage promotions, as every purchase will facilitate raising awareness and providing critical support to women and children in Fiji.

As part of the hotel group’s “Cup of Kindness” coffee sale initiative, guests at all three properties can contribute on Fridays, October 4 and October 18. All coffee sales on those days will be donated to WOWS Kids Fiji and Cure Kids Fiji, organizations that provide essential support to children battling cancer and their families. Additionally, Pinktober pins will be sold at all three hotels, with proceeds going to the Fiji Cancer Society.
