The husband of a former member of the Grace Road Church (GRC) has dismissed allegations made by his wife regarding the treatment of families within the organization. Speaking to The Fiji Times, he clarified that the matter at hand is personal between him and his wife and that the church has been inadvertently involved in their dispute.

His wife, who has chosen to remain anonymous, recently shared that she fled the True Mart shopping center in Navua after nearly eight years with the church. Her motivation for leaving was to provide her two children, aged 13 and four, with better opportunities and a safer environment.

In response to her claims, the husband suggested that her anger has led her to place blame on the organization. He described family separation as a normal aspect of life that everyone experiences, noting that the GRC is undergoing expansion efforts that often require hard work. He emphasized that despite any perceived separations, families can still play together and engage in various activities, insisting that their children are happy and well-educated.

The husband expressed hope that his wife would come back to the church, implying a desire for unity within the family. Meanwhile, the Grace Road Church has not issued a comment on the situation, directing inquiries to the husband instead.

This personal situation highlights the complex dynamics within families and organizations, shedding light on how differing perceptions can lead to conflict. It serves as a reminder of the importance of open communication in resolving personal disputes while also recognizing the need for supportive environments for children.

While the family faces challenges, there is potential for reconciliation and understanding, which could pave the way for healing and unity.
