The U15 team from Holy Cross College attracted a significant number of supporters who traveled from Taveuni for their quarter-final match against Suva Grammar School in Suva yesterday. Buckhurst Park was filled with green as fans donned school shirts proudly.
Parent Asenca Bogitolu shared that they arrived on the mainland on Wednesday and are currently residing at the Vatuwaqa parish. “We are thrilled that Holy Cross College has reached the Dean’s quarter-finals for the first time,” Bogitolu stated. “Making it this far is a major achievement for us.”
She expressed gratitude for the support the team has received throughout the tournament. “The boys have had tremendous backing during their preparation. We faced several challenges, yet we appreciate the encouragement, particularly from our alumni. Fundraisers and Kava barrels played a crucial role in our journey here.”
Bogitolu emphasized their coordinated efforts in wearing matching t-shirts to demonstrate their support. “No matter the outcome, we are proud to have reached the quarter-finals.”
