The Holy Cross College U15 team attracted a large crowd of supporters from Taveuni during their quarter-final match against Suva Grammar School in Suva yesterday. The fans filled Buckhurst Park in green, proudly sporting their school t-shirts.
Proud parent Asenca Bogitolu shared that they arrived on the mainland on Wednesday and are currently staying at the Vatuwaqa parish. “We are thrilled that Holy Cross College has reached the Dean’s quarter-finals for the first time,” said Bogitolu, highlighting the significance of this achievement.
She expressed gratitude for the support the team has enjoyed throughout the tournament, noting, “There has been tremendous support for the boys during their preparation. We encountered several challenges, but we are grateful for the encouragement, especially from our old scholars.”
Bogitolu also mentioned that fundraisers and Kava barrels were instrumental in their journey to this stage. “We coordinated our t-shirts to show our support. Regardless of the outcome, we are proud to have made it to the quarter-finals.”
