A collaborative operation involving the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team resulted in the arrest of three individuals in Nadonumai on charges related to the unlawful possession of drugs.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu, this operation included two separate raids that successfully uncovered items believed to be marijuana, as well as stolen electronic devices and paraphernalia associated with drug packaging.
The suspects are currently being held at the Lami Police Station as investigations continue. ACP Driu highlighted the importance of these operations during the festive season, aiming to disrupt criminal enterprises and enhance efforts to combat illegal activities through focused raids. He also encouraged the community to contribute to the fight against drug-related crimes by reporting any suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach by law enforcement not only aims to mitigate drug-related crime but also fosters a sense of community involvement in maintaining safety and security. Such efforts can help create a more secure environment for all residents, particularly during festive times when crime trends often surge.
In summary, the joint task force’s recent efforts have proven effective in tackling illicit drug activities, reinforcing the commitment to ensure public safety, and encouraging community participation in reporting suspicious behavior.
