The Mata Dance Group is gearing up to perform at the FMF Mirchi FM and Radio Fiji Two Non-Stop Holi Masti event tomorrow, featuring a vibrant blend of Bollywood dance, Indian cultural pieces, and contemporary Polynesian and Fijian styles.

Tevita Tobeyaweni, a member of the Mata Dance Group, shared his enthusiasm for being part of such a lively celebration. He emphasized the group’s diverse makeup, which includes dancers from various ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. “We’re always hoping to leave the audience with something meaningful they can take back to their homes,” he said, underscoring the group’s dedication to promoting unity and understanding through their performances.

The Holi Masti event will take place at the Damodar City Centre car park from 3 PM to 8 PM, designed to be inclusive and welcoming for everyone. In addition to captivating dance performances, attendees can enjoy live DJ music, traditional Jogira, and a variety of food stalls, ensuring a fun-filled atmosphere for families and children.

This vibrant celebration aligns with the notions highlighted by community leaders and local presenters about the significance of Holi as a festival that bridges cultural divides. Holi is a time to reflect on the values of unity, love, and cooperation within the community.

As anticipation builds for this multicultural event, the spirit of Holi becomes a symbol of hope, fostering togetherness among all Fijians. Celebrations like this not only promote joy but also strengthen community bonds, showcasing the rich diversity and resilience of Fiji’s cultural heritage.
