Winston Hill, the defending Asia Pacific IBO champion, is preparing to defend his title against Australian fighter Lachlan O’Shea at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion. Hill recognizes the strength of every opponent he faces and views this upcoming match as a daunting challenge.
He describes the fight against O’Shea as akin to a bad dream that he’s unable to escape or confront. “Every fight that I prepare for, I feel like the man that will be standing in front of me is the most dangerous man that I’ve ever faced,” Hill remarked. He likens the encounter to a nightmare, emphasizing his serious approach to the bout.
Hill intends to maintain a strategic mindset, focusing on exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses. “This is it. In my mind, this guy is out to get me, and I’m fully preparing well. It’s like he’s the Boogeyman,” he stated.
Drawing on his experiences with tough opponents like Jese Ravudi, Hill understands the growth and resilience he has gained from past challenges. He recalls his first fight with Ravudi, admitting that he treated him as a serious threat. “I imagined that he was this bad guy that was going to knock me out. I got through the training, got through the fight, and when I faced him again, I knew he would return stronger with all his experience.”
As the reigning Asia Pacific champion, Hill feels the pressure of expectations but remains determined and ready to face any challenges ahead.
