High Stakes Hoops: Fiji Schools Basketball Championships Kick Off!

The Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championships kicked off today at Lautoka’s Multi-Purpose Court. Fiji Basketball Chief Operations Officer Laisiasa Puamau expressed enthusiasm over the participation of 70 teams in this three-day tournament.

“We are pleased to welcome new schools like Lautoka Muslim, Votualevu College, and the return of St Thomas High School and RKS this year,” Puamau stated.

The U15 Boys category features competitive pools, with Pool A including ISS, SGS, and MBHS 2, along with CCL, ISN, and SHC. In Pool B, teams such as YSS, MBHS 1, LDS, Tilak High School, and FAMS promise a heated competition.

For the U15 Girls, Pool A includes YSS, LDS, ISN, and CCL, while Pool B is made up of SGS, SJSS, Votualevu College, and ISS, ensuring a thrilling championship.

The U17 Boys division is divided into three groups. Pool A features CCL, SVC, RKS, SGS, and MBHS 2. Pool B contains LDS, NHS, ISN, QVS, and ISS, while Pool C comprises YSS, THS, FAMS, and MBHS 1.

The U17 Girls have a competitive Pool A with THS, NHS, SGS, GHS, and SJSS Blue, and Pool B consists of CCL, SVC, SJSS White, YSS, and LDS, which promises exciting matches throughout the event.

In the U19 Boys category, Pool A includes MBHS 1, FAMS, CCL, JWC, and QVS. Pool B features YSS, SGS, Votualevu College, LMC, and MBHS 2, while Pool C consists of LDS, SVC, STHS, THS, and Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS).

For U19 Girls, Pool A has ACS, LDS, FAMS, and SJSS, while Pool B includes SGS, YSS, SVC, and ISS, all vying for a place in the finals.

The championship is anticipated to showcase high-energy games, exceptional performances, and unforgettable moments for both participants and spectators.
