High Spirits and Energy: Vodafone Fiji Bati Gears Up for Historic Match

The Vodafone Fiji Bati’s captain’s run yesterday showcased a positive energy flow, according to head coach Wise Kativerata. He noted that this session built on previous training conducted earlier in the week, and the players found it enjoyable.

“It was really good and a very colorful training session; we enjoyed it and the turnout from the boys was impressive,” Kativerata stated. He added that the captain’s run went smoothly and was an extension of training sessions from Monday through Wednesday, with a day off in between.

Kativerata also highlighted the high spirits within the camp, mentioning that senior players were instrumental in helping newcomers acclimate. “The atmosphere at camp is really good, and the senior players lead by example,” he said.

While the match against the Kumuls is a primary focus for the team, he expressed satisfaction that younger players are also enjoying the training and adapting quickly to the team environment. “They were a bit worried at first, but we told them to relax; it’s a game of rugby league. As the days and weeks progress, I can see they are starting to open up and enjoy the experience,” Kativerata reflected.

The upcoming match against the Kumuls marks the Bati’s first home game since 2001.
