Former Fiji Link Chief Executive Officer Shaenaz Voss and former Senior Security Officer Sharun Ali are currently being interrogated by the Fiji Police Force. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime, ACP Mesake Waqa, confirmed that both individuals are under investigation for alleged unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition on domestic flights.
On the previous day, Voss and Ali were observed exiting the Nadi Police Station. This follows the recent withdrawal of charges by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions against Voss, related to non-compliance with the operator’s airline security programme. Voss had previously faced charges regarding the unlawful carriage of firearms during a flight from Nausori to Labasa Airport in 2018.
