A 31-year-old man, Anare Vuli Ciliceva, accused of murdering a woman in Raiwaqa last Monday, has had his case moved to the High Court in Suva. Ciliceva appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou at the Suva Magistrate’s Court, facing one count of murder related to the death of Sabreen Shahib Ali on September 9 in Raiwaqa, Suva.

During the court session, Ciliceva indicated that he wished to reserve his right to legal counsel, as he needed to make international calls to secure funding for a lawyer. Magistrate Savou granted him additional time, explaining that due to the serious nature of the charge, the case would be transferred to the High Court.

Ciliceva will remain in custody while being given a 21-day period to prepare his Alibi Notice. The next court date is scheduled for September 30.
