The High Court has granted bail to Emosi Tikoicina, who is accused of setting fire to the Navuso Agricultural Technical Institute located in Navuso, Nausori. The hearing took place this afternoon in front of High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

Justice Rajasinghe imposed strict conditions on Tikoicina’s bail. He is prohibited from interfering with prosecution witnesses and must refrain from committing any further offenses while on bail. Additionally, Tikoicina is barred from entering the Technical Institute.

According to State Counsel Zenith Zunaid, Tikoicina confessed to a friend who is also a student at the Institute. Tikoicina entered a not guilty plea in May. The allegations claim that on April 7, 2024, he intentionally and unlawfully set fire to the building and its assets at the Navuso Agricultural Technical Institute.
