Stall operators at the Hibiscus Carnival were unharmed this morning despite strong winds that tore roofing iron off several stalls. Many operators took to social media to express their mixed feelings of relief and frustration, raising concerns about the safety of their stalls given the substantial fees they incurred.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident. Some nearby stall owners claimed that the roofing was inadequately secured, leading to its detachment. Employees from the contracted company responsible for the stalls are currently working to fix the damage.

Later today, float processions will take place at noon to mark the conclusion of the Hibiscus Festival, which is being held at the Suva Foreshore.
