Two individuals were rescued after their fibreglass boat capsized near the Navua passage on Saturday afternoon. According to police reports, the incident occurred when a large wave caused the boat to overturn, throwing the occupants into the water. Authorities responded promptly to the distress call and successfully rescued the boat’s captain and a 17-year-old boy. Both were treated at Navua Hospital, and the boat was subsequently returned to its owner.
