Police Constable Iowane Baleicakau has received widespread recognition for his courageous rescue of a child trapped in a flooded house in Sawani.
Lynda Tabuya, the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, also commended PC Baleicakau by sharing his photo on the Fiji Police Force’s social media channels, acknowledging his brave actions.
The Fiji Police Force highlighted that PC Baleicakau’s bravery exemplifies the core values of policing. They stated, “When others flee from danger, Police officers advance towards it for the benefit of the communities we serve.”
They emphasized that, “Without contemplating the risks, we remain committed to serving. Despite facing criticism and negative feedback, we confront challenges directly.”
