A good Samaritan tragically lost his life while assisting a colleague in removing belongings from a burning house in Nadroumai village, Nadroga. According to police, the man, who was in his 40s, collapsed inside the partially engulfed home.
Authorities reported that he was attempting to help clear items from one of the rooms when he suddenly fell. Emergency responders rushed him to Sigatoka Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigations are ongoing, and a post-mortem examination will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
