Three children have successfully completed lifesaving heart surgeries at Sai Prema Hospital and have now been discharged, bringing great relief and joy to their families. Parents expressed their gratitude towards the hospital for providing their children with the “gift of life.”
Naomi Taubera, 27, shared her emotional experience as her four-year-old son underwent open-heart surgery, which included the closure of heart valves. She recalled that after her son was born, they had their first echocardiogram in Lautoka, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were unable to arrange the second one.
Following a referral from a medical professional, the family sought assistance from Sai Prema Hospital, known for offering free screenings for children. This ultimately led to the identification of her son’s heart condition.
“When I learned about his diagnosis, I was terrified and emotional. But now, I’m incredibly relieved that the surgery went well,” Taubera stated. She is encouraging other parents to take their children to Sai Prema Hospital, emphasizing the importance of addressing health issues promptly. “It’s best to address these health concerns sooner rather than later,” she advised.
