Three children have successfully undergone lifesaving heart surgeries at Sai Prema Hospital and are now back home, bringing immense relief and joy to their families.

Parents expressed their gratitude towards the hospital for providing their children with the “gift of life.” Naomi Taubera, 27, was particularly emotional as her four-year-old son had an open-heart surgery to close heart valves.

“When my son was born, we had our first echocardiogram in Lautoka, but we couldn’t schedule the second one due to COVID-19 restrictions,” Ms. Taubera shared. After being referred by a medical professional, they sought assistance from Sai Prema Hospital, which offers free screenings for children, where her son’s heart condition was diagnosed.

“When I learned about his diagnosis, I was terrified and emotional. But now, I’m incredibly relieved that the surgery went well,” she added. Ms. Taubera is encouraging other parents to bring their children to Sai Prema Hospital, emphasizing the importance of addressing health concerns promptly. “It’s best to address these health concerns sooner rather than later,” she stated.
