More than 200 individuals gathered for a fundraiser dinner on Saturday, organized in partnership with Samson Lee Fiji, Sheraton Fiji Golf and Resort, and Rosie Events at the Sheraton’s Denarau Island Convention Center. The event aimed to raise funds for cancer patients in the western region of Fiji.
Samson Lee, a prominent fashion designer who experienced the loss of his sister to cancer, emphasized the importance of cancer awareness in his life. “This event is particularly significant to me, as I usually participate in charity events annually, but this one resonates deeply because my sister passed away from cancer,” he expressed.
Lee is committed to giving back to the community each October in honor of those affected by cancer. He remarked on the impressive turnout, highlighting the genuine support from attendees for the cause.
Silvano Dressino, general manager of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, praised the partnership for the event, noting its goal to assist cancer patients in the West. “Marriott celebrates Pinktober and has a long history of community service. It was a true pleasure to host this event, and we are delighted with the results, as the proceeds will aid cancer patients,” he added.
