Healthcare Workers’ Safety: A Call for Community Support

Spread the love

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has emphasized that the welfare and security of healthcare workers assigned to nursing stations and health centers nationwide is its highest priority.

In an official statement, the Ministry announced its intolerance towards any actions by individuals or communities that disrespect healthcare professionals or create a climate of fear for those dedicated to serving in these facilities.

The Ministry acknowledged a delay in appointing a new nurse to the Naililili Nursing Station in Rewa, attributed to a series of robberies that occurred at the nursing station’s quarters last December. Currently, the nurse stationed at Naililili is working at Wainibokasi Hospital and visits Naililili once a month to conduct Maternal Child Health Clinics and Special Outpatients Clinics.

Additionally, a laborer is scheduled to clean the nursing station on a monthly basis.

To enhance security, the Ministry plans to install fencing around the nursing station and implement other minor renovations. It has urged the community to actively contribute to ensuring the safety of healthcare personnel serving across the nation.
