Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospitals has announced a partnership with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) to enhance healthcare access for over 10,500 sugarcane farmers at reduced rates, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of medical services available to this vital community.
The agreement emerged from discussions between Parvish Kumar, founder and CEO of PSH Group, and SCGF chairperson Ahmed Bhamji, along with Fund CEO Raj Sharma, during a recent meeting. The SCGF leadership visited PSH’s Nadi hospital, where they were impressed by the state-of-the-art medical technology and the hospital’s cleanliness.
Bhamji highlighted the Fund’s commitment to creating flexible policies for the needs of sugarcane growers and praised the new attractive healthcare packages aimed at rewarding productive growers in Fiji. He emphasized the importance of enabling these farmers to leverage their collective buying power.
Raj Sharma added that the partnership would significantly enhance the livelihoods of sugarcane farmers by providing easier access to healthcare services, including initiatives set to launch in Labasa for farmers in that region. The discussions also focused on potential outreach programs addressing wellness and healthcare, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kumar expressed his dedication to supporting the farming community, acknowledging the historical significance of the sugarcane industry in Fiji’s economy. With personal ties to sugarcane farming, he empathizes with the challenges farmers face when seeking medical care. Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to the loyalty program, ensuring that farmers will benefit from quicker, affordable medical services at his hospitals.
This partnership not only aims to uplift the healthcare standard for sugarcane farmers but also strengthens the bond between the agricultural sector and medical service providers, paving the way for a healthier community.
This initiative is a promising step towards ensuring the well-being of sugarcane farmers, who play a crucial role in Fiji’s economy. With collaboration between healthcare providers and agricultural organizations, the future looks hopeful for improved health outcomes in this sector.
